Thoughts Are The Key
In everyday life, we experience the whirlwind of thoughts that occupy our ordinary consciousness. Thoughts that spark positive or negative feelings fill our minds with content that pleases or disturbs us.
Often, we choose one of these thoughts and cultivate it, growing it by thinking of it more and more, and as that thought grows, so does the energy associated with it, positive or negative.
If it is a positive thought, we enjoy the exercise; but if it is a negative thought filling our minds, it can affect our psychological state and, eventually, the body. We call overthinking a negative thought, “dwelling” on it, which can be damaging in many ways.
Consider this:
Think of each thought as having a small amount of energy. If you think of one word, that word has a small measure of energy. If the word has a negative meaning, it will radiate a negative feeling that can be felt within you. It will be subtle but detectable if you pay close attention.
If you think of a sentence with a positive feeling, you can detect a larger sense of positivity. A paragraph even larger. Have you ever had an alarming thought and felt severe stomach discomfort? A thought created an alarming reaction within your physicality. Thoughts are produced by energy, radiate energy, and can transform energy.
Let’s try something. Get relaxed. Just sit and allow your thoughts to settle. Now shift your attention from the outside of yourself to the inside. Sense how you feel within. When you realize you are focused on your inner self, think the word LOVE, and sense what happens within you. The feeling will come with the thought, linger after the thought, then slowly disappear.
How does your body respond to the thought of LOVE? The word is accompanied by a subtle burst of warm energy, an almost undetectable glow of warmth, maybe a slight tingling of positive energy.
Now, think the word hate. And sense the energy that comes with that. It is subtle, almost undetectable. Perhaps the difference nearly escapes you. But it is negative. Yet at this level, it can be difficult to tell the difference with just one word.
With a complete sentence, it will be easier to tell the difference, and the effect it has on your body will be noticeable. You must become attuned to the subtle energies. They are you.
When you become more aware of the energy within and around you, you develop a more profound sense of being. You have a stronger connection to everything around you, and become acutely aware of the true reality.
This is an essential part of being human. And the more you know about what and who you really are, the higher level of awareness you have, and that determines the quality of life you experience.
Yoga teaches us “mindfulness,” in which we sit and watch our thoughts, like clouds floating by. No matter the idea, we notice it without attaching ourselves to it, avoiding the energy it carries, positive or negative.
This is a valuable practice: it exercises our minds and teaches us to control and manage negative thinking. Our thoughts create our reality and can either raise our spirits or torture our souls.
Mindfulness is helpful, but to clear the accumulated thoughts, we must stop all thoughts completely. This takes effort because thoughts can occur without us thinking about them. Our “monkey mind,” as referred to by the meditators of the East, chatters away if we like it or not.
Within this idle dialogue can be vicious, destructive thoughts that can capture your attention and grow within you, causing profound, disturbing effects like viruses floating around in your head, ready to be activated by an untrained mind.
We must extinguish these bugs with preventive maintenance. A valuable mental practice for maintaining cognitive health is meditation.
Meditation, like mindfulness, is a spiritual practice that allows one to train the mind. Learning how to slow down and stop all thoughts is challenging, but it can be done with practice.
Through specific breathing techniques or mantras, we can slow the flow of thoughts until there are no thoughts, leaving only awareness of peace and tranquility.
Thoughtlessness. No mindedness.
We are not unconscious; we are fully aware of a state of being that can also promote inner peace, well-being, and happiness, helping overcome negative emotions and mental states such as anxiety, fear, and depression.
All thoughts must be silenced, and the mind must be empty. The vibration of the self is too low and can’t harmonize with the God Frequency. The ego cannot exist; only our true divine nature can be present, that part of us that is made in the image and likeness of God, the Holy Spirit.
As we achieve the state of pure spirit to commune with The Creator, our expanded consciousness merges with the God Consciousness and the two vibrate as ONE; Samadhi.
As Jesus said: “The Kingdom of Heaven is Within You.”
